Video: Check out the brilliant, atmospheric new trailer for David Fincher’s Gone Girl

"This man of mine may truly... kill me."

“This man of mine may truly… kill me.”

The Batffleck stars as Nick Dunne in the big-screen adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s best-selling thriller, Gone Girl, as a man who, after his beautiful wife Amy Elliot Dunne (Rosamund Pike) goes missing, is put under extreme scrutiny as people question his role in her mysterious disappearance.

Is he responsible for his wife’s vanishing, or is he just pretending to be “a good guy so that everybody can see him being a good guy?” Ooooooooooooh, intriguing…

We haven’t read the book yet because we’re still making our way through our extensive Sweet Valley High book collection, but we can assure you, after watching the excellent trailer for the new WhoDunneIt, we cannot wait to see this film.

As well as the supremely-talented cast on board (plus Tyler Perry for some strange reason), Gone Girl is helmed by the imcomparable genius that is director David Fincher, one of JOE’s all-time Hollywood heroes and responsible for directing some of our most favouritestest films ever, including Fight Club, Se7en and The Social Network.

No pressure there then David, eh? To be honest though, it looks like the man has got everything under control. ‘Til death do them part…

And just in case you missed it, make sure you check out the similarly-impressive first trailer below. Now this is how you use music in a trailer…

Gone Girl creeps its way into Irish cinemas on 3 October 2014.
