If you missed Top Gear last night then you may have missed their particularly good ‘safe cycling’ adverts that might make cyclists think twice about jumping red lights…

As well as featuring Aaron Paul as the ‘Star in a reasonably priced car’, Sunday night’s episode of Top Gear featured a few humorous ‘safe cycling’ adverts that were created by the Top Gear lads themselves. While the ads aired throughout last night’s episode on BBC, they weren’t meant to be taken literally.

However, the adverts still managed to outrage some cyclists who say the ads paint cyclists in an unfavourable light and while they may be right, there’s no denying that at least one of the Top Gear ads has a point.

The point that Clarkson ties to make in his advert (below) was: If you’re a cyclist who jumps a red light then there could be an impending explosion, or more to the point, collision, heading your way…

Here’s a look at another two of the five parody ads that aired on Sunday night’s show. The first advert takes a stab at cyclists for simply ‘not growing up’ while the second advert actually features a fairly deep message, which is a tad surprising seeing as it’s Top Gear we’re talking about.
