Feel free to make your own muppet/politician jokes.
In the biggest transfer news in the puppetry world since Zig and Zag signed for Channel 4, yesterday the BBC announced that they had snagged Sesame Street legends Elmo and the Cookie Monster for a new show on their children’s channel, CBeebies.
The pair, along with loads more, will star in a new show called The Furchester about a hotel run by, according to the BBC, “cheerfully incompetent monsters”. We know it’s for kids but we would watch the sh*t out of that show.
Anyway, for some bizarre reason, the BBC decided to scare the crap out of its late-night viewers last night by having Newsnight’s Emily Matliss end the show with a dead-straight interview with Cookie himself.
As many have pointed out, he makes as much, or more, sense than many of the regular guests on the show.
Hopefully Cookie makes the trip over to appear on Vincent Browne sooner rather than later
