Inside the mind of Francis Begbie.

Ahead of the release of T2, the long, long-awaited sequel to Trainspotting, Robert Carlyle discusses the impact of his character Francis Begbie.

"I knew this guy so well," says Carlyle. "He's become like a friend. Literally everywhere I go, every country that I go to, people know this character. He's psychotic but they love him in a strange kind of way."

Carlyle explains that Begbie has been in prison for two decades and, when he's finally released, there's only one thing on his mind.

"The first thing he wants to do is kill Renton, that's for sure."

Jonny Lee Miller, meanwhile, has been talking about the return of Sick Boy and what it means to revisit the film that made his name back in the 1990s.
