The folks at Republic of Telly have become quite adept at poking fun at Irish institutions of late and though she has definitely acquired national treasure status following her exploits at the 2012 Olympics and on the world stage, Katie Taylor was the latest to receive the treatment on tonight’s show.
Tracking Katie in her preparation for the forthcoming Olympics in Rio in two years’ time, the sketch detailed her burgeoning rapping career and life under her new coach, who is as far removed from her father Peter as you’re going to get.
As you’d expect, there are some killer lines and there’s also a cameo appearance from a fairly radiant looking Síle Seoige, but don’t let us spoil it for you, have a gander for yourself in the video above.
