2013’s San Diego Comic-Con certainly took it’s time to crank up the excitement levels last week, but it eventually hit us with a few crackers over the weekend, including the brand new trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Jennifer Lawrence, everyone’s favourite falling-over, dress-ripping, Jack Nicholson-schmoozing, Oscar-winning darling returns as Katniss Everdeen, our Hunger Games heroine.
Following her Games victory in the very enjoyable 2012 film, Katniss is now busy sparking the flames of Hope and Revolution in the bellies of her oppressed fellow citizens in the post-apocalyptic nation of Panem.
Plus she’s doing loads more of that whole holy-shit-buckets-she’s-on-fire-thing again.
The eagerly-anticipated sequel also sees the welcome return of the beautifully-bequiffed Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson and ahmm, Lenny Kravitz.
They’re joined this time round by Oscar-nomination hogs Philip Seymour Hoffman and Toby Jones so, whatever you do, make sure you don’t misunderestimate the excellent dramatic power of the assembled cast.
The sequel is also being directed by Francis Lawrence, the brains behind the music videos of Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is scheduled for release in Irish cinemas in November 2013.
