Video: Montage of hilarious censorship of swear words in famous movies

Some people might not be a fan of profanity, or x-rated language, but one can’t help but admit that some of the greatest lines in film history are made even more memorable by the presence of swear words within. John McClane’s famous sign-off, for example, would hardly sound as effective if it went Yippee ki yay mother… fecker rather than the Yippee ki yay motherfu**er we all know and love so well.

TV stations have a job to do, however and often need to protect the innocence of younger viewers and those who would take offence to the use of such profane language by censoring some words and lines that might prove off-putting to some of those watching.

We’re not sure how many, if any, of the above examples of censorship in the montage put together by the folks at Buzzfeed were actually broadcast on screen but that doesn’t make them any less hilarious, particularly Samuel L Jackson’s famous line from Snakes on a Plane, as referenced in the opening paragraph.
