Get it? “Sink your teeth?” Because he’s a vam… never mind.

With the recent news that the baddest vampire bounty hunter of all-time is set for a comeback, vampires need to get their cinematic act together.

Fear not all you fans of the undead, for Dublin director Gary Shore is bringing the original bloodsucker Dracula back to the big screen with his big budget Hollywood take on the rise of Vlad the Impaler in Dracula: Untold.

JOE has been keeping our eye on this one for a while and the first trailer looked very promising indeed. The film was also partially shot in Northern Ireland so eagle eyed viewers may be able to spot some familiar locations.

The story is set in the 15th century, as Vlad (friend of JOE, Luke Evans) finds his homeland facing the threat of invasion by the Ottoman Empire. Those pesky Ottomans, up to no good as usual.

Looking to find a way to defend his people, Vlad strikes a deal with an ancient evil (Game of Thrones’ Charles Dance AKA Tywin Lannister) that gives him incredible powers… but at a terrible cost. Note to self: deals with dark forces are usually bad.

And, as if that wasn’t good enough news already, the film will also have a special charity screening in aid of St Francis Hospice, Raheny, on September 30 at the Savoy, Dublin.

Tickets cost €10 each and are available from the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival website right here.
