If this theory is to be believed then Jon Snow might not be a bastard after all.
Such is the sheer level of detail in George R. R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire series of books that it would take a brave person to contradict the details contained within, but some Game of Thrones fans have done just that with one of the most interesting plot-lines of both the books and the TV series.
Anyone familiar with either will know that Jon Snow is the bastard son of the late Eddard Stark (we did say there would be spoilers) but while Jon himself and pretty much everyone else might ‘know nothing’ about the identity of his mother, a fan theory might be able to help uncover her identity, as well as disputing the fact that Ned Stark is his father after all.
The video above offers a far simpler explanation of the ‘R+L=J’ theory than we could attempt to do here, but let’s just say it suggests that while Jon Snow is not Ned’s son, he does have a Stark blood and that he could also be related to the lovely Daenerys Targaryen.
Guess that eliminates the chance of Jon Snow and Khaleesi ever getting together then, eh? Actually, scratch that, this is Game Thrones so anything can happen. A-ny-thing.
