Danny Boy with a happy ending, anyone?
We’d like to impose a ban on anyone non-Irish using the word ‘grand,’ as it just makes someone with an American accent sound like Julia Roberts in Michael Collins and nobody needs that.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is usually more hit than miss, but this made us bite down hard on our knuckles to be sure to be sure, and don’t get us started on the alternative lyrics to Danny Boy (which, incidentally, NOBODY SINGS IN IRELAND).
Ah sure isn’t everything grand, begob.
(Apart from this. This is terrible, from the bagpipes to Colbert’s Irish lilt.)
