Don’t say that we never do anything nice for you.
Earlier today we promised that we’d bring you the brand spankin’ first full trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier and here at JOE HQ we like to keep our promises.
Having already revealed the itty bitty teeny tiny teaser (that was in fact a trailer for this full clip), we now get a chance to see Chris Evans return in all his USA! USA! USA! glory as Steve Rogers AKA Captain America.
Appearing in this new film are fellow Avengers alumni Nick Furey (Samuel L. Jackson) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and this time around they are joined by the brilliant Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce and the shadowy Sebastian Stan as the titular Winter Soldier.
The trailer starts promisingly with a crackin’ piece of Joss Whedon-esque dialogue but, following on from that, what we mostly get are shots of gazillions of vehicles taking off and then more shots of the same gazillion vehicles crashing back to Earth.
And what’s the craic with the Zoolander levels of “who am I” existential questioning that our Marvel hero seems to be asking himself throughout?
Most annoyingly though are the apparent spoilers so keep an eye out for those – the soldiers who seem to be assisting the Cap’ at the beginning of the trailer (23 seconds in) are then seen getting their asses whooped by our hero later in the clip (1’24).
A strange choice of footage indeed…
No matter though. We’re big fans of Marvel Studios here at JOE so we’re willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. They’ll be delighted to hear that we’re sure.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is scheduled for release in Ireland on 28 March 2014.
