Superman fans will already known the background to the Man of Steel, but for everyone else, here is a brilliant two-minute clip featuring the hero’s history. It even includes Beppo, the super-monkey.

Apart from making Superman fans’ incredibly happy, this clip also helps to serve as a mini-history lesson for anyone not too familiar with the American icon.

Here’s what the guys from DC Comics had to say: “From the creative minds of Zack Snyder (Man of Steel) and Bruce Timm (Superman: The Animated Series) and produced by Warner Bros. Animation, this short follows Superman through the years, from his first appearance on the cover of Action Comics #1 to Henry Cavill in this year’s Man of Steel…all in two minutes!”

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, DC Comic artist, producer, character creator and animator, Bruce Timm said: “The idea was to start with Siegel and Shuster and end with Henry Cavill, stopping at all the high points and iconic moments in between.”

It’s a seriously cool video and was produced in honour of Superman’s 75th anniversary.
