WATCH: Danny Dyer will be delivering a Christmas message this year and it looks perfect

Paul Moore

Danny Dyer

Proper nawty, innit.

2018 has seen some absolute diamond geezers and events make the headlines as Trump, Brexit, the World Cup, Fernando LaFuente and all the cast of Love Island clogged up your news feed, but one man’s heartfelt and oddly poignant take on British politics made everyone take notice.

Of course, we’re talking about the man who called former Prime Minister David Cameron a twat on TV. The one and only, Danny ‘fackin’ Dyer.

Aside from starring in Eastenders and contemplating calling old Bill while watching his daughter on Love Island, the star of The Football Factory continues his one-man attempt to take the unofficial title as 2018’s man of the people.

Well, he might be familiar with documenting Britain’s hardest gangs, but he’ll be on camera for a very different event on Christmas Day.

In years gone by, just like Marge Simpson, Sharon Osbourne and Ali G, Dyer will be delivering Channel 4’s alternate Christmas message.

‘Auld Lizzie in Buckingham Palace must be doing her nut after hearing this news.

In fact, we’ve even got a sneak peak of Dyer having a pop at this year’s events in Westminster – “I mean, where are our leaders? Where are they? There’s been more backstabbing than we have in Albert Square” – and he also had a dig at Donald Trump and the fact that “it ain’t any better for the Yanks though, is it, you know. What an absolute melt they’ve got there.”

Essential Christmas viewing when this airs.
