WATCH: Fans of BoJack Horseman need to check out the trailer for Netflix’s new show Tuca & Bertie

Yep, we’re 100% here for this.

As Netflix themselves put it: “They’re relatable, fly AF, and just happen to be bird women.”

This is Tuca & Bertie, the new show from some of the creative minds behind BoJack Horseman, and while there does some initially appear to be some connections between the two shows, show creator Lisa Hanawalt has specifically said “Tuca & Bertie is not a spin-off, nor in the same universe as BoJack… but it’s similar in some ways! And very different in others!”

Instead, it will deal with two 30-year-old bird women – voiced by Tiffany Haddish (Girl’s Trip) and Ali Wong (The Angry Birds Movie) – who are best friends and happen to live in the same apartment complex.

It does seem, to us, like a modern sensibility has taken over the idea behind Sex & The City, but turned all of the ladies into cartoon birds.

The rest of the cast is yet to be announced, but we’re sure – as with the case of Bojack – that the famous names will be lining up just to bounce some funny lines off Haddish and Wong, if only because it seems quite like that Tuca & Bertie will be one of the cooler shows to arrive in 2019.

The first season will arrive in full on Netflix from Friday 3 May.
