After a bit of a forced hiatus since 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home, Marvel has been back with a bang these last few months. WandaVision, Loki, Black Widow, What If...?, and next month we have Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Before 2021 is out, we're also due to get Spider-Man: No Way Home, but before then we'll be getting Marvel's latest outing in what appears to be the world of hard sci-fi/fantasy, in the form of Eternals.
Directed by recent Best Director Oscar-winner Chloe Zhao (Nomadland), the movie features an absolutely stacked cast including Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kit Harrington, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, and Ireland's own Barry Keoghan.
While the previous plot details have been kept pretty guarded - we knew it involved a race of immortal beings who lived on Earth and shaped its history and civilisations - but it wasn't until this new (and final) trailer that we finally understand the true nature of the plot.
It turns out that (two-year-old plot spoiler for one of the biggest movies of all time alert!) Tony Stark's sacrifice in bringing half of the universe's population back into existence with a snap of the Infinity Gauntlet generated enough power to create something called the Emergence to begin.
Whatever the Emergence is, it seems pretty apocalyptic, and bad enough that the Eternals, who usually stand back and remain as directly uninvolved as possible, might reunite after centuries apart to stop this incredibly powerful new threat.
Marvel's Eternals is due to arrive in Irish cinemas on Friday, 5 November.
