It’s almost time for Stranger Things 3.
It’s been far too long since we spent time in Hawkins, Indiana but we don’t have too much longer to wait. Stranger Things will return to Netflix on 4 July, less than two weeks from now.
Netflix has released the final trailer for the show’s third chapter on Friday morning, and oh boy is there a lot to unpack.
Firstly, the Mind Flayer – the big bad guy with the tentacles – is back. He’s the hive mind for the the Demogorgon and the Demodogs and very possibly all of the other creatures that inhabit the Upside Down. He’s back and he’s about to fuck shit up.
The trailer also suggests with some clever editing that the Mind Flayer has attached itself to a human host, namely Billy, the young-Rob-Lowe-looking asshole older brother of Max. It then cuts to various shots of the Stranger Things bunch getting prepared to defend themselves; cue lots of loading shotguns, axe-wielding, shotgun-slinging and a bunch of Ghostbuster-esque suits.
The stakes have never been higher, as the malevolent being warns the gang: “We are going to end you. We are going to end your friends. And then, we are going to end everyone.”
But on the bright side, there’s a funfair! So things aren’t all bad in Hawkins.
