What do you think?

Ireland has a strange relationship with the Eurovision. Currently it’s one of mocking disinterest. But in years passed, it was one of the highlights of the TV year for many people.

Success in the contest may have dried up for the Ireland, despite being the most successful country in the history of the competition, we haven’t tasted success since Eimear Quinn won it back in 1996. Although Marc Roberts came damn close the year after.

But this year is going to be different and to quote a famous TV show, “I don’t want to jump to any conclusions but I think we’re definitely going to win.”

The song, a ballad called ‘Dying to Try’ will be performed by singer and musician Brendan Murray, formerly of the boyband Hometown and originally from Tuam in Galway.

It was performed live for the first time on The Late Late Show on Friday.
