Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, The Flash, Agents Of SHIELD, Supergirl, Green Arrow, Legends Of Tomorrow, Gotham, Legion... and they're just the superhero TV shows that are still on the air right now, not mentioning any of the recently cancelled, or any yet to begin.
So it isn't like we're exactly left wanting for more, so what is it that is going to help The Gifted stand out from the crowd.
Well for one thing, it's got Bryan Singer involved. He's the guy who directed The X-Men, X-2, Superman Returns and X-Men: Days Of Future Past (the less said about X-Men: Apocalypse, the better), so if you want anyone involved in your X-Men TV show, it's this guy.
Secondly, the central mystery appears to be the disappearance of both the Professor Xavier's X-Men and Magneto's Brotherhood, so anyone discovered with mutant powers are forced to go on the run or stay in hiding.
That proves to be a major problem when one of the enforces of keeping mutants under lock and key finds that two of his own kids are super-powered.
Fox have picked up the entire first season to run this Autumn, and we can expect to see it on this side of the pond pretty soon after it airs in the States.
