WATCH: Michael Bay shares footage of bonkers stunt from the set of his new movie

His new action movie stars Oscar-nominated Jake Gyllenhaal.

Bad Boys. The Rock. Armageddon. Pearl Harbour. Transformers. Whether you love him or not, there is no denying that director Michael Bay knows how to blow stuff up real good.

And it looks like explosive business as usual on the set of his new movie, Ambulance.

A remake of a 2005 Danish thriller, the plot revolves around two bank robbers who hijack an ambulance and attempt to evade the authorities after their latest heist goes horribly wrong.

The movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman), Eiza González (Baby Driver), and Garret Dillahunt (No Country For Old Men).

The footage from one of the stunts was posted online this week, and it shows director Michael Bay in the thick of the action (literally), as an ambulance ploughs through a street full of traffic, resulting in a massive explosion and what looks like the ambulance itself colliding with the dolly that Bay is riding on.

Bay commented on the stunt himself on his social channels:

“Filming my new movie. I’m the guy in black on the dolly. We do these controlled but dangerous looking shots. It takes a great crew to make these shots possible. Knowing the physics involved and catch cars. At the end, everyone was safe. This phone video makes it look scarier that it was in person.”

Ambulance is currently scheduled to arrive in Irish cinemas in February 2022.
