WATCH: The new trailer for the Will & Grace relaunch

JOE

The trailer is here.

The popular NBC sitcom is back for 2017, following a surprise election mini-episode.

That ten-minute mini-episode turned into a ten-episode series order for a new season of the Emmy-winning comedy on NBC.

The new, ninth season of Will & Grace reunites original stars Eric McCormack (Will), Debra Messing (Grace), Megan Mullally (Karen) and Sean Hayes (Jack).

The mini-episode, which aired last September, expressed their disapproval for Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy.

Ten episodes has since been increased to 12 and last night on the channel, a new Must See TV NBC Thursday lineup advert for the show was aired at 8 PM on Monday Night in America.

The five-minute clip opens with Will and Grace leaving the NBC studios after securing a deal for their TV comeback but Grace is disinterested in the revival, saying she’s done it all before.

Will tries to persuade her by transporting his co-star back to their former sitcom set where Karen is sleeping on the couch under a blanket and Jack wanders in after ditching his date at the front door.

The trailer, features a mini-musical piece at the end, during which the cast promise that it will be “as if they never said goodbye”.

Will & Grace, which aired from 1998-2006, was one of the great shows that was part of NBC’s once-venerable Must-See TV comedy lineup.

It has a great legacy, winning 16 Emmys, including best comedy series and it is credited with paving the way for LGBT characters on TV, featuring the first openly gay lead characters on a primetime network series.
