WATCH: Stranger Things Season 4 gets a creepy new trailer
"Eleven, are you listening?"
It was on Valentine's Day in 2020 when we got our first teaser for the fourth season of Stranger Things, which placed us in the middle of the action somewhere in Russia. The trailer was titled 001/004.
Since then, it has mostly been radio silence about the hit Netflix show, which debuted all eight episodes of its third season way back in July 2019.
Finally, we have received another look, titled 002/004, which has been released to announce that the fourth season is still currently in production.
No set release date has yet been announced, but we do know that surviving series regulars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman and Cara Buono are to be joined by some new arrivals.
Jamie Campbell Bower (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows), Eduardo Franco (Booksmart) and Joseph Quinn (Dickensian) are all on board in currently undisclosed roles. The central plot itself is also most under wraps, but it will pick up on the surprise survival (WARNING: TWO YEAR OLD SPOILER ALERT!) of Hopper (Harbour) at the end of the third season.
Series creators The Duffer Brothers previously told Entertainment Weekly what we can expect from the central premise of the new season:
"Hopper is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, Russia, where he will face dangers both human… and other. Meanwhile, back in the States, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything..."
Check out the creepy teaser right here, and considering that 002/004 title, we can probably expect two more of these before the show arrives...
