Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly to play Sherlock Holmes and Watson in new comedy

This could be fantastic…

There’s a strong case to be made that the best comedic duo on screen are Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly.

We’ve seen Step Brothers and Talladega Nights at least 36.5 times at this stage and no matter how hard you try, you’ll still laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.

Now the pair are reuniting to take up the role of Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous detective duo, Sherlock Holmes (Ferrell) and Watson (Reilly) according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The pair will offer light-hearted take on the characters in Holmes & Watson, which was written by Get Hard director Etan Cohen, who looks set to direct this project as well.

We can’t imagine it being anything like Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman’s version of the pair, but we think in its own unique way, this movie looks very promising.

Ferrell is fresh off his roles in Daddy’s Home and Zoolander 2 with Reilly starring in the soon to be released Kong: Skull Island.

Let’s hope for some more of this…
