A great achievement.
Young Offenders actor Chris Walley has won a best supporting actor award at the Olivier Awards in London.
The prestigious Oliviers are regarded as the Oscars of British theatre.
The Cork native won the award for his role in Martin McDonagh’s The Lieutenant of Inishmore, which ran in the West End in 2018.

“I probably have peaked! Maybe I’ll just retire now, never do a play again – one hit wonder,” Walley said backstage, according to the BBC.
“I feel so lucky to have gotten this. I can’t imagine I’ll be in this position again so I’m going to cherish this, I’m just so grateful.”
Walley plays the role of Davey in the play The Lieutenant of Inishmore, which also stars Poldark’s Aidan Turner.
