The duo have also been nominated for Best Comedy performances in a separate ceremony.

Following on from the movie, and the TV show, and the Christmas special, fans of The Young Offenders wait with bated breath to see what is going to happen with the duo next.

A second season? A second movie? A… something else entirely?? Who knows, but we’re excited to find out.

Until then, the good news for Chris Walley (Jock) and Alex Murphy (Conor) keeps on coming, as they find themselves nominated for some of the most prestigious acting awards around.

First up, they have both been nominated for Best Comedy Performance (Male) for the Royal Television Awards 2019, and they’re in some fantastic company, with Samson Kayo for his role in Famalam, and Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith for the roles in Inside No. 9 also up for the award.

The full list of that award nominees can be found here.

Meanwhile, Walley has also been nominated an Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in Martin McDonagh’s play The Lieutenant of Inishmore.

Walley is also up against some serious contenders in this category too, but the Olivier awards are seriously considered to be some of the most high-profile theatre awards in the world, so even to be nominated this early in his career is an amazing achievement.

JOE spoke to both of the lads a little while back in the lead up to the most recent outing for The Young Offenders, where they also discussed their other projects, including The Lieutenant of Inishmore, and you can listen to that chat in full right here:
