Bruce Springsteen says he could tour with The E Street Band "late in the year, next year"
The Boss seems destined to be on the road in 2020.
Given the fact that Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band famously covered ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’, it should come as no surprise to learn that The Boss is fond of dishing out Christmas presents.
This year, fans have been treated to the album Western Stars, the documentary of the same name and the Springtseen-inspired coming-of-age film, Blinded by the Light.
The Boss has delivered another Christmas present by reaffirming his plans to make a new album with The E Street Band and then hit the road shortly after on a world tour.
Springsteen was recently in Australia to promote the release of Western Stars and he sat down with Sunrise showbiz correspondent Steve Hargrave to talk about the documentary and his future plans.
When asked about the potential of a new record and tour, Springsteen said: "At some point. We're going to start to make the record relatively soon. I never know how long that's going to take, but when it's finished, we'll start looking at some touring - perhaps late in the year next year, or something. It may come up, I'm looking forward to that."
In another interview with Australian outlet 9Honey on the same trip, Springsteen reaffirmed his plans to hit the road in late 2020.
"I'm gonna record with the band soon," he said.
"Then - I never know how long the record's gonna to take, hopefully, it won't take long - and at some point after that, we'll start to look around and play again and, of course, I always love coming to Australia. It's become a great, great place for us with a great audience for us there and it's a joy to come, so hopefully late next year... we'll be getting out there."
If "out there" also means Ireland, we'll gladly welcome The Boss with open arms once more.
