Aaron Rowe tells fans to concentrate on “Zionist lobby” and not Ed Sheeran

The Dublin singer-songwriter said on social media that the decisions made by Sheeran were "human error".

The Dublin man dropped out of Ed Sheeran's Loop US tour after it emerged American rapper Macklemore was dropped from his slot for saying "free Palestine" during a concert.

Macklemore was was slated to appear at eight of the 10 shows left on the U.S. leg of Sheeran’s tour, which is set to resume today in Philadelphia.

In a statement shared on Instagram, Macklemore claimed he was dropped from the tour after Robert Kraft — the multi-billionaire owner of the New England Patriots and Gillette Stadium began a pressure campaign against Macklemore and Sheeran.

“Ed also told me that Kraft had rallied some of the other stadium owners and collectively they gave him an ultimatum: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you will not be allowed to play in our venues.” 

The backlash has been swift, and concentrated on Ed Sheeran, which Rowe says is wrong.

"You are all focusing on the wrong person here," he said.

"When you really should be focusing on the likes of Robert Kraft, you really should be focusing on the Zionist lobbies that are trying to silence the voices of people who are shouting about genocide.

"here are people with so much money and so much power that they're able to basically shut down any opinion that they don't agree with. You should be using this opportunity to plaster Robert Kraft's face everywhere. Someone who tried to shut down free speech. Someone who tried to silence the voices of people who are shouting out genocide."

He added that Sheeran's statement "could have been a lot better", but believes "it was panic stations".

"I haven't had a chance to fucking talk to Ed too much," he said.

"I fully believe he knows that was a mistake. If Ed Sheeran was a fucking Zionist, why would he have all these fucking people on the fucking tour?

"Ed Sheeran has done so much for so many fucking people, including artists like me, who he's literally changed their entire lives. All he has inside of him is kindness. That is who Ed Sheeran is."

He then took aim at the Irish government who he said have "done absolutely fucking nothing about what has gone on, considering the fucking impact that the British Empire had in our fucking country."

He ended by saying that: "Any Irish footballer out there who is going to play those fucking terrorists, you will be fucking remembered. Don't forget that."

Ireland is set to play Israel next week.
