A new addition to 2FM will replace Rick O’Shea on his weekday slot

Change is afoot at 2FM

Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to hear Rick at the weekend.

Rick O’Shea will soon leave his weekday radio show on 2FM and will be replaced by Tracey Clifford, who many will recognise from her days on the Breakfast Show on SPIN 1038.

A familiar voice on 2FM for years, O’Shea will remain with the station and will host a weekend radio show from 11-1pm on Saturdays and Sundays, resulting in a reshuffle of the weekend schedule.

Commenting on the move, O’Shea said: “Over the past 14 years, 2fm has become my home and I’m thrilled to be a big part of this new and exciting schedule. The weekends are a brand new adventure for me and the guys and we very much look forward to disrupting your mornings with our usual brand of total nonsense.

“For all the shows listeners, we’re moving shop around the corner and the sign over the door will remain the same. See you on the other side!”

New 2fm presenter, Clifford was understandly delighted with her latest gig: “Growing up, 2fm was always the station on in the car. I actually think that is where my interest and love of radio started at a young age.

“So for me now to say that it’s my new radio home is such a surreal but unbelievably exciting moment. It is an honour to follow in the footsteps of my radio heroes. I cannot wait to get cracking.”
