Irish music is enjoying a massive boom in popularity both at home and abroad.
Data from the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) shows that 2025 was a landmark year for our artists, with Irish talent appearing in bigger numbers on the biggest charts than at any point this decade.
It'll come as no surprise that acts such as Fontaines D.C., CMAT, Hozier, Kneecap, Jazzy, Amble and Kingfishr all helped drive the Irish culture boom.
Irish artists also made up a significantly larger share of the year’s most popular songs compared to previous years.
Of the top 100 most-streamed tracks in Ireland, 22 were by or featured Irish artists, which is three times as many as in 2024.
But the biggest song of the year was none other than Kingfishr's Killeagh, in news that will shock absolutely no one.
Killeagh was not only Ireland’s most-listened-to track of 2025 but also, with nearly 27 million steams, it became the most-streamed song in any single year this decade.
Kingfishr also placed seven tracks in the top 100 most-streamed list, tied with international star Zach Bryan for the most of any artist on the year-end list.
Other Irish acts featured heavily too: Amble, Hozier, Fontaines D.C., Jazzy and Kneecap all appeared in the top 100 while Irish music overall accounted for about 21.5 per cent of the top 100.
On the album charts, Irish and international stars also had huge years. Taylor Swift claimed the biggest album of the year in Ireland for a second year running, while Amble’s debut album Reverie became the most successful Irish album of 2025.
Releases from Irish artists including Fontaines D.C., CMAT, Kingfishr, Amble and Kneecap were also among the best-selling vinyl albums of 2025.
