The rapper is making his way back to the United States.

A$AP Rocky has been released from a Swedish jail on Friday, after a judge ruled that he and two co-defendants could remain free while they wait for a verdict in two weeks.

Rocky was arrested on 2 July of this year, following an altercation in Sweden, days before he was due to headline Longitude Festival in Dublin.

Since then, a petition had been signed by over 600,000 people demanding his release, including a number of the biggest names in the music industry.

According to the New York Times, his fans and supporters in the courtroom erupted in cheers after the decision, with his mother being heard saying “There is a God”.

Neither Rocky nor his two co-defendants have been made to stay in Sweden, so the rapper is currently making his way back to the United States.

Donald Trump, who was recently urged by Kanye West to fight for the rapper’s freedom, celebrated the news on his Twitter page:

We bet he’s absolutely chuffed with those puns.
