Æ MAK has gradually evolved into one of Ireland's most intriguing and legitimately inventive projects.
McCann leads the way - particularly at live shows and in official promo videos - as a fearless and graceful physical presence, embodying work that has drawn valid comparisons to the likes of Kate Bush and Björk.
Æ MAK's latest effort 'Intro; Release Yourself' - teased as something of a new beginning by McCann - strides boldly into Fever Ray territory, emerging as a brief clockwork puzzle of sharp electronic bursts and searching, alien vocals.
