Andy Serkis brings back Theresa May as Gollum for an epic Bohemian Rhapsody destruction of Brexit

Paul Moore

Andy Serkis Theresa May Gollum

This is too good. May, Johnson, and Rees-Mogg get absolutely rinsed.

Over the course of his illustrious career, Andy Serkis has used performance capture to embody some of cinema’s most memorable heroes and villains.

Granted, given the environment of Brexit, we’re not sure if Theresa May is quite as popular as Caesar the ape, Gollum, King Kong, or even the evil Supreme Leader Snoke of The First Order, but if anyone can portray the complexity and turmoil of the British Prime Minister, it’s Serkis.

Given the chaos that’s currently defining the political climate in Westminster and the Brexit circus that’s running wild, we think that his take on May’s leadership and Brexit is pretty apt.

On a side note, we’re loving his takedown of Jacob Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson.

Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek is a certainty to feature in this year’s Oscar race, but if the Academy are looking to find a late nominee, Serkis’ portrayal of the Tory leader could see him receive a Best Actor nod.

Hell, the least they could do is nominate this effort for Best Original Song?*

*Okay, we know that’s an impossibility but this is too damn good not to receive some sort of medal.

To paraphrase Gollum’s most iconic line, it’s precious.

One song to ruin them all.
