The ‘212’ rapper posted an emotional video on her Instagram page.

Rapper Azealia Banks’ concert in Dublin tomorrow night (22 January) was temporarily in doubt after the rapper got off an Aer Lingus flight, according to a lengthy Instagram story posted by the artist herself.

In the story, Banks describes an incident between herself and several members of Aer Lingus staff as she flew from Gatwick to Dublin.

“The lady is like… asking me some questions,” she said, referring to a steward. “And since I didn’t have an answer for her she went a couple of seats over and she’s just like staring at me.”

“She goes to the captain of the plane and lies and says that I said ‘Oh don’t stare at me, I’ll sort you out’. I’m from New York City, I don’t say shit like that, I don’t use that kind of slang.”

Banks tearfully went on to say that she was “crowded” by staff who “chastised” her like “an animal”.

Banks also said she was confronted by “all these security n*ggas crowding around [me] and treating me like a wild animal”.

“Tried their hardest to get me to say something or do something or freak out,” she said.

Banks says she got off the plane following this interaction.

“I’m really just trying to calm down right now,” she concluded. “I’ll probably drive to Dublin or get the ferry or whatever I have to do, you’re not gonna play me.” Banks said that she will make a complaint to Aer Lingus.

Banks has since reassured fans, posting a message on her Instagram, saying: “I am going to make it to Dublin. Do not worry.”

JOE has reached out to Aer Lingus for comment.

Banks is scheduled to play in The Academy, Dublin on 22 January.
