Wear your Bulmers Forbidden Fruit wristband with pride (but this is why you really should take it off eventually)

Time to get the snip

Time to get the snip.

If you’re not into Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat or Facebook, the next best way to let everyone know you were at a music festival is by leaving on your wristband.

Some people take it very seriously and keep a memento of every festival they’ve ever been to on their wrist, but they might have a change of heart after reading this.

A study by a microbiologist in the University of Surrey named Dr. Allison Cottell found up to 9,000 micrococci and 2,000 staphylococci bacteria on a wristband of a guy who has worn it for two years.

“Staphy-what?” is what we thought, Dr. Cottell explained the findings in more detail saying.

“Staphylococci are usually harmless although they can cause boils and infections of cuts and grazes, and can also cause a form of acute food poisoning if they are ingested. It would be advisable not to wear them if working in industries such as healthcare or food preparation, where there is a risk that the bacteria may spread to other people.”
