Dreadful news for anyone who had tickets.

Indie band Bastille had been set to play in Dublin’s Olympia Theatre tonight (27 January), but on Sunday morning the group issued a statement confirming that the concert had been cancelled.

In a message posted to their official Twitter page, the foursome wrote that bad weather meant that their gear had not made it to Ireland in time. Their gear had been scheduled to come across on the ferry, all of which were cancelled last night due to inclement weather.

The statement says “Everyone involved has been trying everything possible in the last 24 hours to get the tour trucks and buses over to Ireland but the bad weather has meant all ferries have been cancelled and none of our gear will be able to make it in time.”

It further clarifies that the gig has been “postponed,” suggesting that there are plans to reschedule. The statement closes by apologising to everyone who had been planning to go.

A statement from organisers MCD also advises: “Ticket holders are advised to hold onto their tickets while the band, venue and promoters work to reschedule the date as soon as possible with a further announcement later this week.”
