BBC Four are giving their entire schedule over to George Michael tonight

Tony Cuddihy

We’ll all be watching this, as BBC Four pay tribute to a pop legend.

The world was stunned on Christmas Day to learn of the death of the legendary George Michael at the young age of 53.

The former Wham! singer has left a phenomenal legacy, not only in his music but also in the charity work that he carried out but rarely took credit for.

On Friday night, just five days after his death, BBC Four will screen a number of programmes celebrating the life of the singer.

9pm: George Michael: A Different Life

George revisits his childhood home in Hertfordshire and also joins up with Andrew Ridgeley, with whom he enjoyed massive chart success in the 1980s with Wham!

Simon Cowell, Noel Gallagher, Sir Elton John, Boy George and Mariah Carey also appear in this candid look at his personal and professional life.

10.30pm: TOTP2

Mark Radcliffe hosts a special edition of the show which looks back at some of Wham!’s best performances on Top of the Pops.

11pm: George Michael at the Palais Garnier, Paris

This 2012 concert from Paris was filmed just four years ago, in 2012, and was also shown earlier this week on BBC1. If you missed it then, you can catch it tonight.
