It will be the fourth time that he has put together the charity single with Midge Ure.

Bob Geldof is planning on getting some of the biggest pop stars in the world together to record a new Band Aid single, 30 years after ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’

The charity track is set to feature the likes of One Direction, Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran and will go towards the fight against Ebola in West Africa.

The original song included the likes of Bono, Duran Duran, Boy George and Sting.

Band Aid most recently recorded a single in 2004 in aid of the Darfur region of Sudan, and featured – among others – Dizzee Rascal, Ms Dynamite, Will Young, Coldplay and Robbie Williams.
