Say what you will about him, the man knows music.
Bono was a guest on The Ryan Tubridy Show this morning and mentioned that he was putting together a playlist of his Top 40 Irish Songs… Now, the playlist is here.
Bono has spread the shine widely on his fellow Irish artists, picking no more than one song per band/singer, with several newer acts included such as Fontaines DC, The Murder Capital and Dermot Kennedy. Sadly, there’s no spot for A Woman’s Heart, which feels like a cruel oversight.
There’s no arguing with the songs that did make the list though: Dearg Doom by Horslips, Comeback Girl by Republic of Loose, Linger by The Cranberries, and many more. Personally I’d have To My Bones by Wallis Bird on the list, but hey, I’m not Bono.
