The bookies think that Ireland have a decent shot of winning Eurovision

Paul Moore

Not a bad bet.

Given the fact that we’ve won the competition more times than any other country, another Irish success story at the Eurovision isn’t beyond the realms of possibility.

This being said, Irish participants in recent years haven’t matched the high standards that came before but the bookies think that there’s a decent chance that this trend could end.

Granted, Ryan O’Shaughnessy might have an evening to forget in Lisbon, but after impressing during the semi-finals, the bookies think that the 22-year wait to win the competition might come to an end.

The Dubliner is currently third favourite to win and he will perform third from last.

After being a long shot at the start of the week, could Ireland pick up another win? It’s often said that the bookies are seldom wrong and here’s what odds you can get, according to Oddschecker.

Cyprus and Israel are the two favourites but we’re not far behind. Should be fun.
