This brilliant tribute to Dolores O’Riordan from a Limerick choir had everyone talking during Up For the Match

Paul Moore

Dolores O'Riordan

A stunning version of Dreams.

After ending a 29-year wait last September, Galway will be looking to emulate the side of 1987 & 88 this afternoon but Limerick have their own dreams of winning Liam MacCarthy.

The Treaty County have been in five All-Ireland finals since last winning the title in 1973 and they’ll be looking to add and eighth crown at Croke Park this afternoon.

On that note, it’s fair to say that some finals for Limerick fans were “never quite as it seems, never quite as it seems” and that the Shannonsiders “want more, impossible to ignore, impossible to ignore.”

Ahead of the big game, RTÉ set the scene perfectly with Up for the Match and amid all tactical chat, anecdotes from fans and intoxicating colour that makes hurling the terrific sport it is, this tribute to Dolores O’Riordan from the Corpus Christi Nation School Choir from Moyross practically stole the show.

Being a proud Limerick woman, we’re sure that the much missed singer of The Cranberries would have been very happy to see her iconic vocals being covered in such a terrific way.

The dreams of Limerick fans live on, as does the memory of Dolores O’Riordan.

Take a look.

After seeing this brilliant cover version by the Corpus Christi Nation School Choir, the public simply couldn’t get enough.
