Buckfast is going to be sold at Irish festivals this summer

Paul Moore

Buckfast

Heaven for any Buckfast lover.

Sun, tunes, craic and a big bottle of Buckfast with the lads.

Granted, that sounds like heaven to some people and on that note, we’re delighted to say that Buckie – aka the cheap and cheerful nectar of the gods – will now be sold at three Irish festivals.

Granted, commercial interest usually means that the choice of drinks at various festivals is limited but people can now go ‘Buck wild’ at three festivals this summer.

As always, please be responsible if you’re having a few tipples while enjoying yourself at these gigs.

The beloved tonic wine will be available to buy at Higher Vision, Castlepalooza and Beatyard which are being held at festivals in Dublin, Meath and Offaly respectively.

We’re told that there’s going to be a dedicated Buckfast Bike Bar (aka your festival hero) that’s going to be parked up and cycling around the festivals determined to serve chilled Buckfast to the masses.

With regards to the festivals, here’s what you need to know.

Higher Vision – 30 June, Higher Vision is an electronic music wonderland with world-class international and local guests at Navan Racecourse, Co. Meath

Castlepalooza – 3-5 August, Castlepalooza is an annual Irish independent music festival and Arts Festival, held at Charleville Castle in Tullamore, Co. Offaly

Beatyard – 3-5 August, the famous festival, Beatyard, returns to Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.

As always, please drink responsibly.
