If you’re a fan of The Cure…

You’d better hope that you’re other half isn’t dragging you to see Metallica.

Last week, metalheads and music-lovers all across Ireland lost their collective mind when it was announced that Metallica would be headlining Slane for 2019.

There’s bound to be some overlap between some of the more sensitive Metallica fans and those who’d love to see The Cure. But there’s just one catch. They’re both playing on the same night.

The Cure took to Twitter earlier on today to announce a Dublin date for 8 June 2019, the very same day as Slane.

There’s also an element of mystery attached to the announcement for now. It’s not clear what venue the sad-rock veterans will be playing — and there are no details yet on tickets or prices. The announcement simply says “Watch this space”.

The Cure are known for their many bangers, including ‘Friday I’m In Love’, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’, ‘Close To Me’ and ‘Fascination Street’.
