An adopted son returns home.
That’s a fair enough tag for David Gray, right?
There was barely a household in all of Ireland that didn’t have a copy of White Ladder lying around in the late 90s.
Hell, I’m pretty sure my house had two for some reason.
Was it really that good? Tough call, with music being subjective and all that.
One thing that is unquestionable, however, is that Ireland, as an entire nation from top to bottom, loves them some David Gray.
And so there shall be much rejoicing with the news that the 50-year-old troubadour is coming back to Ireland for a string of dates next year.
It’s all part of a 24-date European tour in support of new album Gold in a Brass Age which will deliver Gray’s first new material since 2014’s Mutineers record.
As for those all-important Irish shows, the singer will take to the stage at:
The Waterfront, Belfast – Tuesday 2 April
Royal Theatre, Castlebar – Thursday 4 April
Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin – Friday 5 April
Tickets go on general sale on Friday 9 November, while a pre-sale kicks off four days prior via Gray’s official website.
Gold in a Brass Age lands on 8 March.
