Take a sneak peak ahead of his special on RTÉ tonight.

Dermot Kennedy fans are in for a huge treat tonight, as an Other Voices special focusing on his works finally premieres.

2019 has already been a huge year for Kennedy, as his debut album Without Fear has registered as Ireland’s fastest-selling album of the year so far, and it has also topped the UK charts, becoming the first Irish artist in 20 years to accomplish that feat.

His special on Other Voices echoes that success, as Kennedy follows in the footsteps of Amy Winehouse, Bell X1, Damien Rice, Florence + the Machine, Hozier, John Grant, Rusango Family, Savages, Sinéad O’Connor, Snow Patrol, St. Vincent, The National, Villagers, and Young Fathers, who have previously graced the Other Voices stage.

Tonight’s special will feature an interview hosted by Fight Like Apes and Le Galaxie vocalist MayKay, and on top of Kennedy talking about his career to date, the show will also feature an eclectic mix of performances from the singer over the years.

Other Voices first welcomed Kennedy to St. James’ Church in Dingle in 2017, and the special will feature Kennedy’s turns in Kerry, his time as a special guest at the Other Voices stage at Electric Picnic 2019, and his most recent turn in Berlin this July.

Below is one of those Berlin performances, with JOE given an exclusive sneak peak at his rendition of ‘Outnumbered’ there.

The Other Voices Dermot Kennedy Special will air on RTÉ 2 at 11.30pm tonight (Thursday 24 October).
