You’ll probably need to act fast, mind.

Such is his popularity in Ireland and such was the demand for tickets to his shows in four different Irish venues next summer, it was always likely that Ed Sheeran tickets weren’t going to be available for long after they went on release on Saturday morning.

A lot of fans endured a frustrating experience while trying to secure tickets online, but many did so after patiently waiting in a queue for hours, having been urged by both Ticketmaster and Aiken Promotions to bide their time due to the extent of the demand.

On Saturday afternoon, Aiken Promotions confirmed that tickets to six of Sheeran’s seven Irish shows next summer have officially been sold out, with a limited number of tickets still available for his show in the Phoenix Park on Wednesday, 16 May, 2018 at the time of writing.

In a statement, Aiken Promotions revealed that over 300,000 tickets to Ed Sheeran had been sold on Saturday, the biggest ever number of tickets sold by an artist in Ireland in one day.

They also reserved special thanks for the fans who bought tickets, for Ticketmaster and for Ed Sheeran and his management team for creating history.

You can read the statement in full below.

“Over 300,000 tickets to Ed Sheeran’s Irish Tour 2018 have been sold so far today, the biggest ever number of tickets sold by an artist in Ireland in one day.

“Aiken Promotions would like to thank all those who purchased tickets today, for their patience. There were queues at all the outlets around the country and the measures which were put in place and the ticket limit of 4 per person, meant that it took longer than usual to process.

“Aiken Promotions would also like to say a special word of thanks to the 70 Ticketmaster outlets who were able to, in a correct and safe manner, look after all the queues around the country.

“A very special word of thanks to all of Ed’s management team and to Ed Sheeran himself, who today has created history, with the record breaking number of tickets he has sold, in just one day, for his Irish Tour.

“By choosing to bring his incredible new show around Ireland, Ed has created unbelievable excitement all over the country. His fans have embraced this with wide open arms, buying tickets in unprecedented numbers and in doing so, have helped to create a little bit of history here in Ireland.”
