Ed Sheeran is releasing yet another version of his hit song ‘Perfect’, this time with classical music legend Andrea Bocelli.
Ed Sheeran has revealed that he has teamed up with classical singer Andrea Bocelli for another version of his number one track ‘Perfect’.
The song, which Ed revealed is about his current girlfriend and childhood sweetheart Cherry Seaborn, was released as a solo single back in November.
Since then, Ed has already released his rework with Beyoncé this month which flew to the top of the UK charts this week. The single is rumoured to be gracing the top of the Billboard Hot 100’s list this week, dethroning Post Malone’s hit ‘Rockstar from’ its eleven-week run at the top spot.
Should they successfully climb atop the Hot 100, it would be Sheeran’s second time to do so.
“I’ve got an Italian operatic version with Andrea Bocelli coming out…,” he told U.S. breakfast show Today on Friday. “It’s just kind of like a little present for Christmas, it’s a really beautiful video.”
The rework with the opera star is the “trick” Sheeran revealed he had up his sleeve this whole time to secure a Christmas number one. During a recent interview with the BBC, Ed admitted his desire to be among the few celebs who’ve claimed the festive number one:
“I’d be lying if I said no. I do have one more trick up my sleeve. It’s not like a Beyonce trick, but it’s quite a cool trick.”
“It’s more for my dad’s generation. It’ll be out in a week. You’ll see then.”
Apparently, the new version is the same as the Sheeran and Beyoncé version, but with Bocelli singing Knowles’ verses, the second in Italian.
