Ed Sheeran has answered the question we’ve all been wanting to know – why exactly he took a year off.
He has always said that it was because he wanted to tour the world as a tourist rather than as an artist so that he could finally see it properly.
This is probably still true to a certain extent but he’s after revealing the real reason why he took the year off. He told The Project in Australia that he wanted a break so that he would get a better reaction from people when he released new music. He felt that they were getting bored of him.
He said:
“I just felt like everything I did, I got a very lukewarm reaction by the end of it.
I was like here’s a new song. And people were like, ‘ah, great.'”
Speaking about his return he said:
“But you disappear for a year and then people are kind of hungry for it again.
But I’m sure I’ll get to the end of this campaign and people will be like ‘yeah, cool.'”
Ed is currently promoting his new singles in Australia.
