The much anticipated official music video for Ed Sheeran’s ‘Galway Girl’ has arrived and it features more cameos from well-known Irish faces than you can shake a stick at.
Saoirse Ronan’s star turn as the ‘Galway girl’ in the video had been flagged in advance and she’s joined by the likes of Tommy Tiernan, Hector O’Heochagain and Peter Coonan and Laurence Kinlan (Fran and Elmo) of Love/Hate fame on what seems like an eventful night out in the west.
The video shows Ed whisked straight from a gig at the 3 Arena to a night on the town seen from his perspective, a night which involves, as the lyrics suggest, some darts, some pool and a bit of a clipping for poor Ed towards the end.
All’s well that ends well come the closing shots, however, when Galway, as you’d expect, is looking only gorgeous…
