Good news on the weather front for anyone heading to Electric Picnic this weekend

Eric Lalor

The Electric Picnic weather is not going to be awful, which is a nice relief for the thousands heading to Stradbally.

Electric Picnic weekend is almost upon us and excitement levels are rising amongst those lucky enough to have a ticket, whereas FOMO levels have escalated amongst those who don’t.

Electric Picnic Weather

It’s not going to make or break the weekend by any means, but the weather over the few days will still be a big factor for those in attendance.

Will it be raining? Will it be freezing? Will it be sunny? What will the Electric Picnic weather be like?

Fear not revellers, we’ve got your metrological backs covered and in good news, the gang at Met Eireann are predicting that we’re in for a decent weekend.

According to Met Éireann, the following is in store on Friday: “After some early morning sunshine with a lot of dry weather about generally, showery outbreaks of rain will slowly develop. Feeling rather warm and humid, however, with some sunny breaks occurring too. Highest temperatures 17 to 21 degrees Celsius, in mostly moderate southerly breezes.”

As for the rest of the weekend “rather warm and calm” conditions, with highest temperatures in the high teens or low 20s are expected. It’s expected to be mostly dry on Saturday and Sunday, with just the odd shower on Saturday and rain mostly affecting Atlantic coastal counties on Sunday.

So there you have it folks, it’s going to be mostly dry and warm. There’s a slight chance there might be a bit of rain late on Sunday night, so maybe bring wellies… if even just for the nostalgia value alone.
