Goodbye, yellow brick road.

Sir Elton John has confirmed that he will retire from touring after his next world tour.

The 70-year-old singer-songwriter made the announcement at a press conference, which took place simultaneously in London and New York.

He has also confirmed that his final tour will kick-start in September 2018 once his six year residency in Las Vegas concludes in May. This will bring him to Dublin’s 3Arena on 12 June 2019 with tickets due to go on sale 9th February via Ticketmaster.

In 2017, John was forced to cancel nine of his shows in Las Vegas and California after contracting a “potentially deadly” bacterial infection during a South American tour.

Despite spending two nights in intensive care, he still managed to play a total of 87 shows throughout the year.
