Even more acts have been announced for Forbidden Fruit this summer

Is it too early to get excited for festivals?

Having announced a very special Bank Holiday Monday line-up a few weeks’ back, Forbidden Fruit organisers have confirmed the addition of more acts ahead of one of the most anticipated festivals of the summer.

Earlier we heard the War on Drugs are amongst six acts confirmed to play on the final day of the festival, Monday, June 4, alongside Grizzly Bear, Warpaint, Thundercat, Spoon and Superorganism.

Now it’s been confirmed that DJ, producer, and underground dance music star, Richie Hawtin will be bringing his new 75-minute audio visual show to Forbidden Fruit.

Electro maestro Kieran Hebden AKA Four Tet, will be bringing his live set to Dublin for the first time since Metropolis in 2015.

In big news, Mike D, the founding member of the Beastie Boys is coming to the Fruit. Rapper, musician, songwriter, drummer, label founder – Mike D will be a DJ set but will also perform songs live.

London born Ben Thompson AKA Ben UFO is one of the leading figures in UK bass music today and has also been confirmed for the festival as have electronic afro funk band Ibibio Sound Machine fronted by London-born Nigerian singer Eno Williams.

Day tickets go on sale 9am Wednesday 24 January via Ticketmaster.
